While Monique is highly skilled in internal medicine, her true passion lies in surgery. She has advanced her surgical qualifications through the European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS), focusing on thoracic, upper respiratory, facial, and abdominal surgery. Monique also performs complex eye surgeries, including conjunctival grafts for punctured eyes. Leveraging USVC’s state-of-the-art CT scanner, she conducts thorough diagnostic exams to determine the optimal BOAS procedures for brachycephalic breeds. Monique handles both surgical and medical second opinions while continuing to offer first opinion consultations.
A strong advocate for creating a stress-free environment for pets and their owners, Monique has been instrumental in making USVC one of the first ISFM Gold Standard cat-friendly practices in the UAE. Her commitment to providing exceptional care is evident in every aspect of her work.
Outside the clinic, Monique is an accomplished Ironman triathlete, having competed in numerous races and qualified for the 70.3 World Championships in 2023. Monique and Dr. Malcolm Rose are also key benefactors of the Liz Junior School in Uganda, which was established by their former colleague, Fred Lukonge.
